
New Delhi. Delhi Traffic Police has made modern arrangements for movement in view of tight security for Republic Day and Beating Retreat ceremony. For the first time, people are being given information about parking and routes through AI-based video. Also, a car-calling system has been introduced to control the crowd after the ceremony. With its help, vehicles will be called to the spot through loudspeaker. Google Maps is also being used and shuttle service has also been provided for the security personnel. The number of help centers has also been increased to 12.
Use of AI video for the first time
For the first time, the traffic police has created detailed animated videos with the help of AI which shows the complete plan of arrival of guests, disembarkation and parking. According to officials, the purpose of these videos is to inform the coming people in advance about the routes and parking arrangements.
How will these videos be available?
According to a senior police officer, these videos can be seen on the website of the Defense Ministry and guests can also watch them by scanning the QR code given on their parking pass. In these videos, the entire process of reaching the venue, deboarding the vehicle and parking on the day of the event is explained in detail.
Total 22 spaces for parking
According to the police, a total of 22 spaces have been created for parking system where around 8,000 vehicles can be parked. Every year around 77,000 passes are issued for the Republic Day Parade, of which around 8,000 passes are for those who come in their personal vehicles.
Shuttle bus service for security personnel
This year, in a new initiative, shuttle bus service has been started for the security personnel deployed on Republic Day duty. This service will be run from Khan Market, Amrita Shergill Marg, Patel Chowk Metro Station and HC Mathur Lane and will be available every 10 minutes so that the personnel can easily reach their destination.
Google Map will help
Invited guests and ticket holders can use Google Map or Map Plus to reach their assigned parking spot on Republic Day. These digital platforms will provide accurate information about the correct route to the duty lane and allotted parking.
12 help centers this year
According to officials, along with digital facilities, the traffic police has also increased the arrangements for help at the ground level. This year, 12 help centers have been set up at key places whereas earlier their number was only two. The employees deployed at these centers will guide people about parking, walking paths and security arrangements.
This time car calling system
Car calling system has been introduced this year to avoid crowding and safe return of guests after the function is over. Through this, the guests will give information to the officer present there while coming out, after which the vehicle number or the name of the driver will be called from the loudspeaker installed in the parking lot.
Special control room will work
Traffic Police Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that for better coordination between all the departments, a special control room will function on January 26 in which officials of police, fire and other emergency services will be present. The traffic police has appealed to the people to follow government instructions and use public transport and digital maps as much as possible for commuting.
