The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Rahul. Rahul was a resident of Mohalla Chunni in Chandausi area of ​​Sambhal. His wife Ruby had complained to the police station on November 18 that her husband had left the house and did not return.

How was the body recovered?

On December 15, a decomposed body was recovered from a drain near Idgah area. The head, hands and legs of the body were missing. Even the police were surprised to see the condition. The body was sent for post-mortem and the forensic team was called. During investigation, Rahul’s name was found written on the dead body. Police investigated the missing reports lodged in nearby police stations.

Technical investigation revealed that Rahul’s mobile phone was switched off since November 18. After this the police’s suspicion started increasing on Ruby. On being strictly interrogated, Ruby broke down and confessed to her crime. According to the police, Ruby was in a love affair with a young man named Gaurav. Rahul had seen both of them in an objectionable situation. Due to this, Ruby and Gaurav planned to murder Rahul.

How was Rahul murdered?

Both of them attacked Rahul with iron rod and pestle due to which he died on the spot. After the murder, the accused used a wood-cutting grinder machine to dispose of the dead body. The body was cut into pieces and a part was thrown into the drain while the remaining parts were taken to Rajghat and thrown into the Ganga river.

What action did the police take?

The police have arrested the accused woman and her lover. The grinder, hammer and other tools used in the murder have been recovered. DNA samples have been preserved to confirm the identity of the deceased. Police have registered a case under sections of the Indian Justice Code and started further investigation.
