Apple is going to bring a big change for its iPhone users. The company is now developing such a satellite connectivity feature, in which there will be no need to point the phone in the direction of the satellite. This means that even if your iPhone is kept in your pocket or bag, it will automatically connect to the satellite.
The main objective of this new system is to provide better assistance in emergency situations. This will allow the user to send SOS messages, ask for help and share location even when there is no network.
Let us tell you that with the iPhone 14 launched in 2022, Apple introduced the Emergency SOS via Satellite feature, which connects users to emergency services and contacts even in the absence of mobile network. Later the company also added road side assistance feature to it. Now Apple is preparing to expand this system further and connect it to Maps and Messages apps also.
Apple is working closely with Globalstar satellite company to develop this new feature. Both companies are working towards making the “Natural Use Function” more useful and intuitive, so that the user no longer has to worry about the alignment or direction of the phone.
According to reports, 5G NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) support will also be included in the upcoming iPhone models. This technology will ensure a strong and reliable network coverage from both satellite and mobile tower signals.
