Panipat. The patience of the lawyers has now ended due to the serious problem of mobile network in the Panipat District Court premises. Advocates have filed a petition in the Lok Adalat against the telecom company Reliance Jio, citing that daily judicial work is being affected due to network disruption. The top management of the company has also been made a party in this petition, which includes the names of Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani and Managing Director Isha Ambani.
In the petition, the advocates said that Jio’s mobile network in the Panipat District Court premises is very weak or sometimes remains completely missing. For this reason, they have to go out of the court premises to open grounds or roads to talk to their clients, other lawyers and concerned parties. This not only results in wastage of time but is also affecting the speed of judicial work. Lawyers say that in modern times, mobile communication has become an important part of the judicial process and unavailability of network is a major hindrance in professional work.
The advocates also mentioned in the petition that many times, due to not receiving important calls or messages on time, there is difficulty in preparing cases, getting information about dates and establishing contact in emergency situations. This is also adversely affecting the functioning of the court.
Lok Adalat, while conducting preliminary hearing on the petition, considered it worthy of consideration and has issued summons to all the concerned parties. The court has fixed February 20 as the next hearing date in this case. The court has asked the Jio management to explain why the network problem persists in the court premises and what steps can be taken to resolve it. Now all eyes are on the hearing on February 20.
