New Delhi. Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, citing developments related to the Iran war, on Thursday alleged that PM Modi has surrendered politically and morally. Kharge wrote in a post on X- Modi government’s careless abandonment of India’s strategic and national interests is in front of everyone. An Iranian ship was a guest of India, returning unarmed from the International Fleet Review 2026 organized by us, but was attacked and sunk in the Indian Ocean region. There were no expressions of concern or condolence. PM Modi is maintaining silence.
He said 38 Indian-flagged commercial ships with 1,100 sailors aboard are stuck in the Gulf of Hormuz. Two Indian sailors including the captain have died. Why is no sea rescue or relief operation being carried out? Kharge said that one crore Indians live in the countries of the Gulf region. Medical students are releasing desperate video messages asking for help. He questioned how the Indian government is securing their well-being? Are there any evacuation plans from the affected areas? Kharge claimed that PM Modi’s surrender is both political and moral. He said it undermines India’s core national interests and is likely to destroy our foreign policy carefully and painstakingly formulated and pursued by successive governments over the years.
