
Bhopal: People seem to be getting relief after severe cold for almost two weeks in Madhya Pradesh. The temperature has increased slightly due to strong sunlight during the day. But the effect of cold still persists during night and morning. However, a strong Western Disturbance seems to be moving towards MP, due to which there will be snowfall in the mountains, its direct impact will be seen in the form of Mawatha falls in MP. Due to which the cold may increase once again. According to the Meteorological Department, western disturbance is likely to become active from January 19 or 20.
After which there may be light to moderate rain in Bhopal, Gwalior Chambal and Jabalpur divisions. There is also a possibility of Mawatha falling during this time. The winter season is reaching its last phase in Madhya Pradesh, but this time the rain has not fallen yet. Light to moderate rain in the last phase of winter will prove to be a bonus for Rabi crops, especially wheat, gram, mustard and lentils.
Shahdol remained the coldest area
There has been a slight increase in the temperature of the state during the last 24 hours. Despite this, Kalyanpur in Shahdol district once again remained the coldest area, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 4.8 degrees Celsius. The nights remain cold even in the hilly areas, although it is not as shivering as before.
Fog is still increasing people’s problems
The minimum night temperature in the capital Bhopal was recorded at 8 degrees. The temperature in hill station Pachmarhi was 5.8 degrees, in Indore and Gwalior also the temperature was around 7-8 degrees. The effect of winter has also reduced in Ujjain and Jabalpur. The cold wave may have weakened, but the fog is still increasing the problems of the people. There was light fog in Rajgarh, Satna, Sidhi, Datia, Gwalior, Ratlam and Khajuraho in the morning. Fog warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department in about eight districts including Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Agar-Malwa, Mandsaur, Rajgarh and Neemuch.
What is the reason behind the weather?
According to Bhopal Meteorological Centre, at this time the influence of western disturbance and jet stream winds remains. The atmosphere is dry due to the activity of the sub-tropical jet stream, due to which the night remains cold. However, the morning and night temperatures are expected to gradually stabilize in the coming days.
