
New Delhi/Raipur. Security forces achieved a historic success in the fight against Naxalism on Monday. Notorious Naxalite commander and Central Committee member Ramdher Majji along with his 11 comrades surrendered before the police in Bakarkatta, Chhattisgarh. Ramdher Majji, who was considered to be the counterpart of notorious Naxalite leader Hidma. A reward of Rs 45 lakh was declared on him. After this major surrender, the MMC zone (Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh) has been declared Naxal free, which is a decisive victory for the anti-Naxal operations in the region.
The 12 Maoist cadres who surrendered include Ramdher Majji, three divisional vice commanders and other key members. At the time of surrender, a large cache of deadly weapons like AK-47, 30 Carbon, INSAS, .303, and SLR were also recovered from them. These Naxalites have surrendered under the rehabilitation scheme. They have been assured of economic assistance, skill development training and social rehabilitation under the existing rehabilitation policy of the state government.
Balaghat district now Naxal free
12 cadres of Communist Party of India (Maoist) surrendered before the police at Bakar Katta police station in Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh, adjacent to the border of Balaghat district. These cadres also handed over the weapons they had to the security forces. This major Naxal-affected district of Madhya Pradesh, which has been known for Naxal violence and activism since the 1990s, has now been officially declared Naxal-free. This achievement has been achieved before the deadline of March 2026 set by the Union Home Ministry.
Now only one Naxalite lamp is active
According to Balaghat SP Aditya Mishra, the Naxalites have surrendered after being influenced by the government’s policy from rehabilitation to resuscitation. Due to this the district has become almost Naxalite free. Now only one Naxalite Deepak is active in the district. Security agencies hope that he too will surrender soon.
33 Maoists surrender in 11 days
In the last 11 days, a total of 33 Maoists from Darreksa and KB divisions have surrendered in Balaghat, which is being considered a major achievement in the anti-Maoist operation. After 12 surrenders in Khairagarh on Monday, Maoism in Madhya Pradesh (especially Balaghat) seems to be moving towards its end. Police claim that the Red Terror is almost over.
