Narendra Modi said after meeting Alexander Stubb – India-Finland relations will reach new heights

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi appealed for an early end to the ongoing war in the Middle East and Ukraine. He said that no issue can be resolved through military conflict. India will continue to support peaceful resolution of all disputes and efforts to establish peace. The PM said this after bilateral talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb. He said that both India and Finland believe in rule of law, dialogue and diplomacy. We agree that no problem can be solved by military conflict alone.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a healthy planet is our common priority. We are delighted that this year we will be hosting the World Circular Economy Forum in India together with Finland. This will give new momentum and new ideas to our sustainable development efforts. Both India and Finland believe in rule of law, dialogue and diplomacy. PM Modi further said that we are unanimous that no problem can be solved by military conflict alone. Whether in Ukraine or West Asia, we will continue to support every effort for an early end to the conflict and peace. We also agree that reform of global institutions is not only necessary but urgent to address growing global challenges, and we have a shared commitment to end terrorism in all its forms. Earlier while addressing, PM Modi said, I heartily welcome President Stubb on his first visit to India as the 13th President of Finland. It is a matter of great honor and pleasure for us to have an experienced and incomparable leader like you as the Chief Guest of this year’s Raisina Dialogue.

India and Finland are important partners
PM Modi further said that, the historic India-European Union (EU) free trade agreement was signed in the beginning of the year 2026. This agreement will further strengthen trade, investment and technical cooperation between India and Finland. India and Finland are important partners in areas such as digital technology, infrastructure and sustainability. Nokia’s mobile phones and telecom networks have connected millions of Indians. In collaboration with Finnish architects, we have built the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River.
