Now the way is clear to build an airbase on the India-Pakistan border… Second airbase will be built in Sriganganagar tehsil.

Jodhpur. Now the way has been cleared for the construction of an airbase on the India-Pakistan border with Rajasthan. From the new airbase, Indian fighter jets can quickly reach the three major airbases of Pakistan.
The way has been cleared for the acquisition of land in the area around Sadulshahr (Sriganganagar) tehsil for the new airbase. Actually, 58 farmers and land owners had filed a petition against the acquisition. Rajasthan High Court (Jodhpur) rejected all the petitions in the hearing. Justice Dr. Nupur Bhati has upheld the land acquisition for the Forward Composite Aviation Base (FCAB). This writ petition is merely an attempt to derail a defense project of national importance with the help of technical objections. Rajasthan High Court made it clear in its reportable judgment that public interest outweighs individual interests in projects related to national security.
The new Sadulshahr airbase will be about 40 kilometers away from the Pakistan border. This will be the second Air Force station in Sriganganagar district. Before this, Suratgarh Air Force Station is present. Already 5 Air Force stations are operational in the districts of Rajasthan-Pakistan border. With the new airbase, fighter jets can quickly reach Pakistan’s Jacobabad, Bholari and Rahim Yar Khan airbases in case of war.
The matter pertains to Lalgarh Jatan and surrounding areas of Sadulshahr tehsil. An important airbase is to be established here by the Defense Ministry near the India-Pakistan border. It is being constructed under Operation Vermillion, which is very important strategically.
