On Khamenei’s death, the opposition raised questions on Modi government, said- India has never looked so weak before.

New Delhi. The Opposition has targeted the Central Government over India’s reaction after the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. There is currently no clear statement from India after the attack by America and Israel, due to which Congress and Samajwadi Party have raised questions on the foreign policy of the government.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said on social media platform He wrote that India had never looked so weak before.

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also said that the silence of the Modi government is against India’s core principles and traditional foreign policy.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said, “At a time when deadly attacks and wars are targeting everyone from ordinary citizens to top leaders, the government should clarify its stand on the international issue and what diplomatic efforts India, as a neutral country, is making to restore peace.”

Modi government’s stance
The Ministry of External Affairs has so far said in a formal statement that India is deeply concerned by the recent developments in Iran and the Gulf region. All parties should exercise restraint, avoid escalating tension and give priority to the safety of citizens. The ministry also said that avenues of dialogue and diplomacy should be adopted and sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries should be respected.
