
New Delhi: On the occasion of Navy Day, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi started the celebrations by remembering the historical achievements of the 1971 war. He told how on 4 December 1971, the Indian Navy had launched a bold and decisive attack on Karachi, which changed the course of the war. Admiral Tripathi said that the successful action of the Indian Navy not only caused huge damage to the enemy’s maritime capabilities, but also laid the foundation of a new victorious chapter in Indian military history.
He further said that with the same passion and bravery, today’s Indian Navy is also fully capable and committed to the security of the country with modern technology, new power and increasing maritime responsibilities. The Navy Chief said that many merchant ships of the world no longer go to Pakistani sea areas. He said that Operation Sindoor is going on. Admiral Dinesh Tripathi said that the Carrier Battle Group forced the Pakistan Navy to stay in the ports.
Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi has said that Operation Vermillion is still going on and the Indian Navy is maintaining full vigilance in the area. He said that in the current situation, the deployment and preparations of the Indian Navy are being continuously strengthened. Admiral Tripathi also said that the effective presence of the Indian Navy’s Carrier Battle Group (CBG) forced the Pakistan Navy to be confined to ports.
He said that the deployment of the Carrier Battle Group was such that the Pakistani Navy could not go out into the sea. They remained in the ports and did not dare to come out. According to the Navy Chief, this is a clear indication of the operational capability, maritime dominance and strategic edge of the Indian Navy. He stressed that India is fully committed to protecting maritime security, regional stability and national interests at all costs.
Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi said that the beginning of Operation Sindoor had a direct impact on Pakistan’s economy. According to him, many big international shipping companies avoided Pakistani ports, due to which insurance premiums increased and maritime trade was affected.
Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi said that since 2008, a naval warship is being continuously deployed in the Gulf of Aden. So far, 138 warships have been deployed and the Indian Navy has safely escorted 7,800 merchant ships. Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi said that the Indian Navy is continuously running operations to deal with piracy in the Gulf of Aden. From November 2023 till now, 62 pirate ships were captured, 40 suspicious ships were stopped, more than 30 incidents were successfully handled and lives of 520 people were saved.
Admiral Tripathi said that the Indian Navy is fully committed to ensuring safe sea routes in the Indian Ocean region. Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi said that since the last Navy Day, the Indian Navy has completed 11,000 ship days and 50,000 flying hours. He described it as a symbol of the Navy’s continuous deployment, preparedness and strong operational capability.
