
Thiruvananthapuram. A Thiruvananthapuram-bound Air India Express flight had to make an emergency landing at the Mangaluru International Airport due to the sudden health condition of a passenger. A 35-year-old passenger suffered health problems in a Thiruvananthapuram-bound flight late on Monday night. The aircraft crew immediately informed the Mangaluru Airport Operations Control Centre. Airport authorities immediately implemented emergency protocols and coordinated with medical teams, CISF, Immigration and Customs. As soon as the plane landed, airport medical personnel assessed the passenger’s condition and he was immediately admitted to a city hospital. Relatives of the passengers also deboarded the plane with them. Timely assistance from the crew helped stabilize the passenger. After the situation came under control, the plane left for Thiruvananthapuram at 2:05 am. An airline spokesperson called the coordinated response a testament to the airport’s readiness and commitment to passenger safety. This incident highlights how aviation and airport authorities effectively deal with medical emergencies.
