Here, when an SRDF jawan plucked guava from an officer’s tree and ate it while on guard duty, he was sent a notice citing indiscipline. Not only this, clarification was also sought, upon hearing the answer to which the officers remained silent. At the same time, now this matter has come into discussion.
Notice given for eating guava
The whole matter is about the Commandant’s residence built in the SDRF office complex located in Lucknow. In the first week of January, an SDRF jawan was on guard duty. There is a guava tree planted in this housing complex. The soldier on duty plucked guava from this tree and ate it. During this time, when some officer noticed it, the matter escalated. Eating fruits by plucking them while on duty was considered indiscipline and the Subedar Military Naik posted in the 1st battalion of SDRF issued a written clarification notice.

At the same time, after seeing the notice, the constable himself was surprised and confused. In the notice issued for eating just one guava, the constable was asked why he did so while on duty.

When the constable responded to this notice, the officers remained silent. Responding to the clarification sought in the notice, the constable wrote – ‘That day he was having severe stomach pain. Holidays were closed, so he could not take medical leave. At the same time, it was not possible to leave duty. To get relief from pain, he watched a video on YouTube on his mobile. There he got information that eating guava can provide relief from stomach ache. Relying on this home remedy, he plucked the fruit from the guava tree in the premises and ate it.’ At the same time, in his reply, the constable also said that his intention was not to break discipline in any way or to damage government property. Along with this, the soldier also apologized in very polite words and requested that considering his helplessness, he should be forgiven.
Officials warned
Seeing the constable’s answer, the officers were also surprised and started thinking. After knowing the constable’s answer, the officers gave him a strict warning and released him with instructions not to repeat such a mistake while on duty in future.
