Parliament Winter Session: Even before the beginning of the winter session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has heated up the political atmosphere. Addressing the nation on Monday, he made a direct attack on the opposition and said that the opposition should come out of the disappointment of the defeat in the Bihar assembly elections and focus on its responsibilities. PM Modi appealed that this session should become an opportunity for balanced and positive discussion on issues related to the national interest, where the government is going to introduce a total of 14 important bills.
On the other hand, the opposition is preparing to corner the government in this session on issues like Special Intensive Revision (SIR), vote theft, air pollution and Delhi blasts. The opposition parties decided the strategy in the meeting held at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in which prominent leaders except TMC participated. During the session in this meeting, major issues were discussed to increase pressure on the government.
Meanwhile, in his address from the Parliament complex, Prime Minister Modi said that the session should focus on what the Parliament is thinking for the country and what further steps it is going to take. He said that Parliament is the best platform for enlightening the public, where there should be constructive debate and balanced criticism.
PM Modi also gave a message to the opposition that the nervousness of politics should not affect the dignity of Parliament. At the same time, he also advised the ruling party to avoid arrogance of victory. Referring to the Bihar election results, he said that the opposition is not able to accept the results and it is clear from the rhetoric that the defeat has upset them.
