Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Johannesburg

Johannesburg. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Johannesburg. The two leaders discussed cooperation in defence, security, minerals, trade and investment and various sectors.

Regarding this meeting, PM Modi wrote on the social media platform He further wrote that in our conversation today, emphasis was laid on three specific sectors, defense and security, nuclear energy, and trade, where there is a lot of scope for further enhancing relations. Other sectors discussed included education, cultural exchanges and much more.

Apart from this, PM Modi also met Naspers Chairman Coos Baker and Group CEO Mr Fabricio Blosi. There was a special discussion in the meeting on deepening investment links. After this, PM Modi talked to members of the Indian community living in South Africa. These people are actively working with different community organizations. With PM Modi, these people shared their experiences on different issues and praised India’s progress in different fields.

Indian Prime Minister Modi, who arrived in South Africa to attend the G20 summit, was welcomed in a grand manner. South Africa’s presidency of the G20 is special in many ways. In fact, India had chaired the G20 in 2023. It was under the chairmanship of India that South Africa became a member of G20.

PM Modi interacted with people of the Indian community in South Africa. PM Modi was welcomed by the youth with Ganpati prayers, peace mantra and other spiritual offerings. Along with this, a cultural program was also presented, in which folk dances from 11 states of India were shown. Chinmaya Mission in South Africa presented an urn each to PM Modi, which contains grains and millets brought from India and South Africa. PM Modi told that it will be kept in Annapurna Devi Temple in Durban.
