Due to the uproar, after about seven minutes the Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the House till 12 noon.
At the same time, the beginning of the Rajya Sabha proceedings was relatively peaceful. During Zero Hour, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of alleged inhuman treatment of a Dalit man in Odisha. He also referred to an old incident that took place in Madhya Pradesh and sought answers from the government. However, later there was an uproar regarding this issue in the Rajya Sabha also. Legislative work is being affected due to the continuous uproar in both the houses during the budget session. While the opposition is adopting the strategy of cornering the government on various issues, the government is appealing for smooth running of the House.
