ED Action on 1xBet case: On Friday, action was taken against many big personalities related to films and sports in the case related to illegal online betting and money laundering in India. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached properties worth crores of many well-known personalities like Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Sonu Sood and Urvashi Rautela.
The property of these celebrities was confiscated
Celebrities involved in the ED action include former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, whose assets worth around Rs 2.5 crore have been attached. Besides, property worth about Rs 8.26 lakh of former cricketer Robin Uthappa and property worth about Rs 1 crore of actor Sonu Sood have also been seized. Apart from this, properties worth Rs 2.02 crore of film actress Urvashi Rautela (which is registered in her mother’s name), Rs 1.26 crore of actress Neha Sharma, Rs 59 lakh of actress and former MP Mimi Chakraborty and properties worth Rs 47.20 lakh of Bengali actor Ankush Hazra have also been attached.
ED has so far attached assets worth Rs 19.07 crore in this case. In the action taken on Friday, property worth about Rs 7.93 crore was seized.
Action in investigation related to betting app 1xBet case
Investigating officers of the Enforcement Directorate said that the 1xBet app and its related platforms were operating unauthorized in India and financial transactions worth crores of rupees were being conducted through its network. During the investigation, it also came to light that many famous cricketers and film personalities were involved in the promotion and endorsement of this illegal platform, due to which this transaction spread on a much wider scale. At present, ED investigation is going on in the matter. It is being told that action can be seen against many more big personalities in the coming days.
