Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday targeted Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel. Raut said that Patel is closer to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) than his own party. He said that Patel should do only what is acceptable to Maharashtra and Marathi people.

Sanjay Raut said, NCP is a party of Pawars, not Patels. He also claimed that NCP state president Sunil Tatkare is also inclined towards BJP. He further said, Prafulla Patel should do only that which is acceptable only for Maharashtra and Marathi people. NCP is a party of Pawars, not Patels. More than being a leader of his party, he is a great devotee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Praful Patel had said on Tuesday that he is not in the race to become the national president of NCP. This post was held by the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He also said that after Ajit Pawar’s death in a plane crash last week, people who have nothing to do with the NCP are speaking on the party’s decisions. Opposition parties are targeting Praful Patel, saying that after the death of Ajit Pawar, he wants to take charge of the NCP. What did Raut say about the mayor of Chandrapur?
On the question of who will hold the post of Mayor of Chandrapur, Raut said that both BJP and Congress have not got majority there and they are dependent on small parties. He said that party chief Uddhav Thackeray has instructed the Shiv Sena (UBT) councilors there not to form any kind of alliance with the BJP.
How many seats did which party get in the elections?
In the 66-seat Chandrapur Municipal Corporation, Congress got 27 seats, BJP got 23 seats and Shiv Sena (UBT) got six seats. BSP and Shiv Sena have got one seat each.
