Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar should also lead the Nationalist Congress Party. Loha MLA Pratap Chikhlikar has expressed this wish. He said that NCP workers want this. Chikhlikar was talking to the media before immersing the ashes of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash on January 28 in his home town Baramati (Pune district). He said that Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar should become the party chief. We all have requested him to take over the leadership of NCP. Senior leaders of the parties also have the same desire. Referring to a meeting held in Mumbai, Chikhlikar said that senior leaders of the party, including Praful Patel and others were present. He was also of the same opinion that Sunetra Pawar should be handed over the command of the organization.
Defended the decision to make Sunetra Pawar the Chief Minister early
The MLA defended the decision to make Sunetra Pawar the Deputy Chief Minister just days after the death of Ajit Pawar, saying that it is true that the decision was taken quickly, but if the family and the organization have to be managed then the leadership has to be handed over to someone. Respecting everyone’s sentiments, Sunetra Pawar accepted this responsibility.
