
Faridabad : A major accident has occurred in Faridabad, Haryana. Here, Inspector Jagdish Prasad, a resident of Palwal, died due to the swing falling in the Surajkund fair, while 12 people were injured in the accident. Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini has expressed grief over the entire matter.
Swing fell in Surajkund fair: The swing boat swing suddenly fell at the Surajkund fair in Faridabad, causing chaos at the spot. At the time of the accident, more than 12 people were riding in the swing. 13 people were injured due to the fall of the swing, out of which Inspector Jagdish Prasad, resident of Palwal, died. All the remaining injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital. It is being told that this accident happened at around 6 pm. Due to technical fault, the motor of the swing failed and this accident happened due to breakage of bearing. The swings were immediately stopped after the incident. The police administration team is present on the spot. Investigation into the matter has been started. The swing operator is being interrogated. Besides, investigation of safety standards is also going on. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to investigate other swings installed in the fair.
What did DC say? : : Regarding the accident in Surajkund, DC Ayush Singh has said that “Inspector Jagdish Prasad posted in Palwal has died in the accident. A total of 13 people were injured in which the inspector died during treatment. This accident happened at around 6.15 pm. An investigation committee has been formed for the accident which will investigate the entire accident.”
Expressed grief over the accident: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini has expressed grief over the entire accident. While posting, the CM wrote, “I am extremely saddened by the accident that took place during the Surajkund fair organized in Faridabad. I express my deep condolences to the family of the person who lost his life in this accident. Also, necessary guidelines have been issued to the concerned authorities for proper and immediate treatment of the injured. The Haryana government is engaged in providing all possible assistance to the injured and their families with full promptness and sensitivity.”
Inquiry orders: Apart from this, Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma has said that “This evening, during the 39th Surajkund International Self-reliant Craft Festival 2026, an unfortunate accident took place in the Jhula area. Orders have been given to investigate the entire matter. Our sympathies are with the families of the victims. All the injured are being provided better treatment. I wish the speedy recovery of all the injured.”
