India Mexico Trade Relations: Neighboring country Mexico is also following America’s path. Recently, the Mexican government has also announced to impose 50 percent tariff on many Asian countries including India and China. India has expressed strong objection to Mexico’s new tariff. India says that the decision taken by Mexico without consulting anyone is against economic relations and global trade rules. Increasing tariffs without discussion is not the right approach.
The new tariff that Mexico has announced to impose on India is going to come into effect from January 1, 2026. Despite India’s strong objection, Mexico has called this decision necessary for the safety of the national industry and producers. However, China has also expressed opposition to the tariff. Along with this, Mexico has been appealed to improve unilateralism and protectionism.
