There are 9 SIM cards running in your name! Do you know? Check this immediately and block unwanted numbers

Aadhaar Linked SIM: In today’s digital era, mobile number has become an important part of our identity. Its use is common in banking, social media and government services. But due to increasing cases of fake SIM and cyber fraud, it has become important to know whether any unknown SIM is active on your Aadhar card.

How many SIMs can be bought from one Aadhar card?
According to the new telecom rules, only a maximum of 9 SIMs can be active on a person’s Aadhar card. Whereas in Jammu-Kashmir, Assam and North-East states this limit has been fixed at 6 SIMs. If more SIMs are found than this fixed number, then that person may also be fined. Also, if there is a SIM active on your ID which you are not using, then you may also become legally responsible for its misuse. At the same time, you may also face problems due to use of that SIM in fraud or any illegal activity.

How to check?
To know how many SIMs are active on your Aadhaar card, the Telecom Department has provided the facility of ‘Sanchar Sathi’ and ‘TAFCOP’ portal.
With the help of these portals, you can get complete information in just a few minutes sitting at home.
For this, first of all go to tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in or sancharsaathi.gov.in website.
Enter your mobile number on the home page and fill the captcha.
Now an OTP will come on your mobile number, enter it and login.
As soon as you login, the list of all active mobile numbers linked to your ID will appear on the screen.

What to do if you see a fake or unknown number in the list?
If any mobile number appears in the list which you do not recognize or do not use, then you can lodge a complaint by clicking on the ‘Not My Number’ or ‘Not Required’ option given in front of it. After filing the complaint, you will get a ticket ID or reference number. Once the investigation is complete, the fake SIM will either be deactivated or removed from your ID. No money is charged for this process, although it may take a few days for the SIM to be completely deactivated.
