Dense fog has engulfed many districts in Uttar Pradesh and surrounding states amid persistent cold winds and thaw, while the possibility of heavy rains in some areas has further increased the problems of the people. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding fog and heavy rain in many districts for the next three days i.e. 4, 5 and 6 January. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe cold with heavy rain for the next 3 days.
According to the Meteorological Department, some districts of Uttar Pradesh may receive rain on January 4, 5 and 6. These include Banaras, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Mirzapur and Bhadohi along with surrounding districts. At the same time, there is a possibility of continuous dense fog in some districts of Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. This includes districts like Pilibhit, Lakhimpurkhiri, Hamirpur, Banda, Lalitpur, Maharajganj, Bijnor, Moradabad, Sitapur and Siddharthnagar.
In Uttarakhand also, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog. There is a possibility of dense fog in the surrounding areas including Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Champawat, Pauri and Dehradun.
In Delhi and NCR, there is a possibility of dense fog in North Delhi, West Delhi, Gurugram and Faridabad for three consecutive days.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim till 4, 5 and 6 January. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu these days.
