
Vijayapura. A private training aircraft of Red Bird Aviation crashed in Mangalore village of Babaleshwar taluk in Karnataka’s Vijayapura district on Sunday. The plane was carrying a captain and a trainee pilot, both of whom suffered serious injuries. Local people informed the police about the accident. This plane was going from Kalaburagi to Belagavi. During the flight, there was a sudden engine failure, causing the pilots to lose control and crash land in a field. The aircraft was a two-seater training plane of the Cessna 172 model. The police officer said that this plane belonged to Red Bird Aviation Company and was being used for training. Initial investigation has revealed technical fault of the engine as the cause of the accident, but the exact cause of the accident will be known only after a detailed investigation. The administration and police have made it clear that in view of the seriousness of the matter, all necessary technical and legal investigations are being conducted and necessary action will be taken after the completion of the investigation.
