Moscow. Amid the 4-year-long war between Russia and Ukraine, a Ukrainian army has claimed that Ukraine is not able to save even its injured soldiers and many soldiers are dying without treatment. This claim has been made by Ukrainian prisoner of war Alexander Sotnivolok, who is under Russian occupation. Sotnivoc has claimed this in a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry.
“There is a big problem in evacuating the wounded from the fighting areas. If a soldier cannot reach the truck carrying the wounded, he is certain to die. The Ukrainian army is evacuating the wounded only when they reach a certain point,” Sotniwok said in a statement on Monday.
He said he saw many dead during the five-day march toward Dmitrov. A soldier was sitting against a tree. Sotniwok and his fellow soldiers thought he was alive, but he was dead. He said the man was trying to reach the evacuation point after being injured in the battle, but died on the way.
Sotnikov further said that when his group of four soldiers arrived at the battlefield in Dmitrov, they were attacked by mortars. Two soldiers were injured in this attack. The two remaining soldiers somehow walked some distance and entered a house where Russian soldiers were already present. They decided to lay down their weapons there. He told that the Ukrainian army is also short of food items. Sometimes drones deliver food items to the battlefield, but they also contain only breakfast items.
Sotnikov said he had no military experience, but Ukraine sent him to the border by force. He had heard rumors that recruiting office staff were releasing people for $15-16 thousand, but there were no guarantees. He said, “You walk out one door and immediately other people come to recruit you to grab you and send you in the other direction.”
