Patna. Union Home Minister Amit Shah may visit the border districts of Bihar on 25 February. Under the proposed programme, he will inspect selected ‘Vibrant Village’ villages adjacent to the Nepal border and review the development works. Administrative preparations have been intensified for his visit.
According to sources, the Home Minister will visit villages along the international borders—Nepal and Bangladesh—to interact with the local people and may also address a public meeting. These border villages have been selected under the ‘Vibrant Village’ scheme of the Central Government, so that the basic facilities and security structure can be strengthened.
Gift of transit camp for soldiers
During the tour, it is possible to announce a big gift for the security forces deployed on the border. According to the information, a transit camp has been prepared by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) near Katihar Railway Junction, which can be formally inaugurated by the Home Minister. Thousands of soldiers are deployed in the border areas, whose movement mainly takes place through Katihar. In such a situation, the soldiers will get accommodation and transportation facilities from the transit camp.
Araria and Kishanganj also included in the program
The Home Minister is expected to reach the Leti Camp (Araria) of the 52nd battalion of SSB deployed on the Indo-Nepal border on February 25. According to local public representatives, they can reach there by helicopter. However, the administration has not yet officially confirmed the detailed program.
Apart from this, there is also a possibility of Kishanganj tour on 26th February. State Industries and Road Construction Minister Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said that information about the arrival of the Home Minister has been received, but the final program is yet to be released. The district administration has also said that official information will be given only after getting the detailed program.
Focus on security of ‘chicken neck’ corridor
During the visit of the Home Minister, an important decision can be taken regarding the security of the ‘Chicken Neck’ corridor. This narrow strip of land connects the north-eastern states of India to the mainland and is very important from a strategic point of view. Kishanganj district is considered strategically sensitive due to its proximity to the borders of Nepal and Bangladesh.
