
Hyderabad: Hindi cinema’s brilliant comedian Satish Shah died today at 2.30 pm on Saturday afternoon in Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital due to kidney failure at the age of 74. He was known for his excellent role in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.
Veteran actor Satish Shah, famous for his work in films like ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’, ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, had gained a lot of love from the audience. Filmmaker Ashok Pandit shared a photo of the late actor on his Instagram. He also shared a video in which he revealed the reason for the actor’s demise. He said, ‘I want to share a sad news with you, our friend, a great actor, Satish Shah has passed away due to kidney failure, some time ago, he fell ill suddenly at home, he was taken to Hinduja Hospital, Shivaji Park, he has passed away, his body will be brought to his residence in Bandra.’
He further said, ‘I will keep you updated about his funeral, it is a huge loss for our film industry, I have worked a lot with Satish, Satish is a great person.’
He also wrote a long note in the caption, ‘It is with sadness and shock to inform you that our dear friend and a wonderful actor Satish Shah passed away a few hours ago due to kidney failure, he was taken to Hinduja hospital where he breathed his last, Om Shanti.’
The actor is survived by his designer wife Madhu Shah. His last post was on X, where he shared a picture with Govinda and Shammi Kapoor. It was written in the post, ‘Happy birthday dear Shammi ji, you are always around me.
Talking about films, he was last seen in the 2014 film ‘Humshakals’ directed by Sajid Khan. Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Tamannaah Bhatia, Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu starred in this film.
Let us tell you, this is the third major death in the industry this week. Earlier, advertising veteran Piyush Pandey had passed away on Friday and veteran actor Asrani had passed away on Monday and even before that, Pankaj Dheer had said goodbye to the world.
