A 62-year-old tribal woman was killed by a youth on suspicion of witchcraft in a village in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. Police gave this information on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Joba Tudu of Kumbhirda village. According to Rairangpur sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Birendra Senapati, on Friday night, 26-year-old Jugu Marandi of Kumbhirda village murdered Tudu with a sharp weapon while he was sleeping in his house. The accused suspected that his father had fallen ill due to Tudu’s witchcraft. The commander said that after the incident the accused surrendered before the police.
