
Mumbai: The country’s great singer Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19. The entire country including Assam has paid tribute to him. His last film ‘Roi Roi Binale’ is going to be released on October 31. It is said that it has been decided to stop the screening of all the films including ‘Thama’, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ and ‘Jolly LLB 3’ in all the theaters of the state. This decision has been taken so that Zubeen Garg’s last film ‘Roi Roi Binale’ can be exclusively screened in all the theaters in the state.
Zubeen acted in the film
According to media reports, only ‘Roi Roi Binale’ will be shown in every cinema hall of Assam. This step has been taken to pay a heartfelt tribute to Zubeen Garg. Directed by Rajesh Bhuyan and written by Zubeen Garg, ‘Roi Roi Binale’ is an Assamese language musical romantic drama. It is produced by Jeel Creations and I-Creation. Zubeen Garg is in his last role in this film. The film also stars Moushumi Alifa, Joy Kashyap, Achurajya Borpatra and others.
Assam government took a big decision
Addressing a press conference recently, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, ‘The state government will hand over its share of GST earned from Zubeen Garg’s last film ‘Roi Roi Binale’ exclusively to the Kalaguru Artist Foundation. This will help in the treatment of artists, help of flood victims and education of needy students. This foundation was founded by singer Zubeen Garg.
Investigation into Zubeen’s death
Singer Zubeen Garg died on September 19, reportedly while scuba diving in Singapore. The singer had gone there to attend the fourth North East India Film Festival. A total of seven people have been arrested so far in this case. A 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CID of the state police is investigating the case.
