New Delhi: Tension in Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party convenor Abhijeet Deepke calls for hoisting the tricolor in Connaught Place on October 16.

Appeal to gather in Central Park instead of Jantar Mantar

Following the recommendation of the Home Ministry, Jantar Mantar has been officially removed from the list of protest sites, due to which demonstrations are no longer allowed there. Only three other places have been identified by the administration for demonstrations. In view of this change, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) convenor Abhijeet Deepke has called on people to gather at the Central Park in Connaught Place at 5 pm on October 16 and hoist the tricolor. However, there is no official confirmation yet on whether permission has been taken from the administration for this event or not.

Nationwide message against the arrest of colleagues

Abhijeet Deepke has issued a video message appealing to the countrymen that those who can reach Delhi should come to Connaught Place, and those who cannot come to Delhi should hoist the tricolor in their respective cities. He said that his associates—Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka—have been sent to jail merely for hoisting the tricolor. Deepke said in a frank manner that if the administration wants, they can send him to jail, but he is not concerned about it and he will not step back from hoisting the tricolor.

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das are in jail.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, CJP spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were taken into custody during the protest at Jantar Mantar. A special court of Delhi has sent both of them to Tihar Jail in judicial custody for 5 days, citing violation of bail conditions. After this arrest, the atmosphere in political circles is heated and the party is continuously preparing for protests.
