Ravla. A sensational case of weapons and dangerous explosive material being dropped through drones from across the border in Rawala area adjacent to the India-Pakistan international border has come to light. Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Border Security Force (BSF), CID and local police have achieved major success by conducting a joint operation on the information of suspicious material being found in a field located at Chak 4 KNM of 12 KND Panchayat, about one kilometer away from Khanuwali BSF Post.

Two smugglers arrested, huge quantity of weapons and RDX recovered

Taking prompt action, security forces have arrested two 19-year-old youths, Lakhwinder Singh and Sukhwinder Singh, residents of Punjab. Two Turkish-made Zigana pistols, four magazines and about 867 cartridges were found in two of the three packets recovered from the spot, while the third packet was confirmed to contain about seven and a half kilograms of dangerous RDX explosive. A bomb disposal squad has been called from Jaipur to safely defuse this RDX. Apart from this, suspicious devices like four pairs of batteries and two remote controls have also been found from the spot, which are suspected to be used for the explosion.

Conspiracy to drop material through Reiki and drone in the name of wages

Preliminary investigation has revealed that both the arrested accused had come to the area on the pretext of working as laborers and were continuously recceing the area for the last three days. This cross-border material was probably dropped between 12 and 2 am through drones. ANTF got wind of this at around 3 am in the morning, after which all the security agencies immediately swung into action and laid siege and arrested both of them. ANTF IG Vikas Kumar said that with this action a major terrorist and criminal conspiracy has been foiled. At present, the network, contacts and original source of weapons of the accused are being ascertained.

Criminal history and antecedents of the accused

Investigation of the case has also revealed that the name of arrested Sukhwinder Singh was involved in the grenade attack on a police post located in Batala, Punjab some time ago and he was continuously absconding. It is noteworthy that earlier during the interrogation of the suspects caught in Ambala, it was revealed that Pakistani terrorist Shehzad Bhatti had planned an IED blast in Rajasthan, which had failed. Security agencies have started a thorough investigation by linking this latest case to the same international terrorist network.
