Bharuch. A major and horrific accident took place inside a pharmaceutical factory in Gujarat’s Bharuch district, where five workers died tragically, while six others were seriously injured in a massive reactor explosion at Sinjil Pharmachem Company located at Saikha GIDC late on Friday night. Immediately after this accident, poisonous gas started leaking in the factory premises, which created an atmosphere of great chaos and fear in the entire surrounding area. All the injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital with immediate effect, where their treatment is going on.
Powerful explosion in 15 thousand liter capacity reactor
According to the information revealed, this accident happened when work was going on in the factory on a reactor with a huge capacity of 15 thousand litres. Meanwhile, suddenly there was a massive explosion, the intensity of which was so high that huge pieces of the reactor flew out and fell outside the boundary walls of the factory. According to local people, the sound of this explosion was heard up to a distance of about 15 kilometers. Due to the impact of this powerful explosion, the heavy machines and iron sheets installed in the factory were badly damaged and the entire complex was turned into debris.
Leakage of poisonous gas caused panic and eye irritation
As soon as the explosion occurred, MDC gas started leaking rapidly from the factory, due to which poisonous smoke spread throughout the complex and surrounding areas within a few moments. As soon as the gas dissolved in the air, the eyes of the workers and other people present there started feeling a severe burning sensation and the health of many employees suddenly started deteriorating. This toxic leak made the situation more dangerous. At present, administration and police teams have reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations and a detailed investigation is being done as to what caused this accident.
