New Delhi. Keeping in mind the current situation, Air India and Air India Express have temporarily stopped their flights to three important cities of Saudi Arabia—Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam. According to the information given by the airline, this suspension will remain effective till October 24, 2026. For the convenience of passengers affected by this decision, the airline has given many options like re-booking tickets, changing the date, traveling from another nearby airport and taking full refund.
Relief to ticket holders till October 15
According to Air India, passengers who had booked confirmed tickets on or before October 15, 2026 and their journey was scheduled between October 9 to 25, 2026, have been given special exemption. Such passengers can make one-time change in their travel date without any extra charge till 10 November 2026. The airline says it aims to provide maximum flexibility to passengers during this inconvenience.
Travel option from other cities of Gulf countries
In case of cancellation of flights to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam, passengers can re-book their journey from other cities in the Gulf Region, although this facility will depend on the availability of seats:
-
Air India Passengers: Re-booking can be done on flights to and from Dubai or Doha.
-
Air India Express Passengers: You can opt for cities like Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat, Ras Al Khaimah, Salalah or Sharjah.
The airline has also clarified that passengers traveling from the alternate city will have to make their own arrangements to reach there and will be required to follow the visa rules of the respective country.
Refunds and Help Center
Full refund of tickets will be given to passengers who are unable to travel due to cancellation of flights. The airline’s contact centers and booking offices in India as well as in the Gulf countries are fully operational to assist passengers. Airlines say that they are constantly monitoring the situation and are committed to providing all possible help to passengers.
