Iran enraged by EU’s move, takes strict action against European forces

Desk. Iran’s parliament speaker said on Sunday that the Islamic republic now considers all EU military forces as terrorist groups. Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf’s comments come after the European Union agreed last week to list Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group for its role in a bloody crackdown on nationwide protests in the country.

Qalibaf cited a 2019 law for this announcement. The law was passed after the US designated the Guard a terrorist group. This allows Iran to retaliate against any nation that follows the decision. Qalibaf made the announcement as he and others dressed in guard uniforms entered parliament. Kalibaf was a commander in the guard.
