Will the 19 year old spell be broken? New Zealand faces India in the final

The final of the T20 World Cup 2026 will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The teams of India and New Zealand will face each other in the title match. This match will start at 7 pm and the toss will take place half an hour before that i.e. at 6:30 pm. Team India will face a big challenge because in the 19-year history of the T20 World Cup, the host team has never become champion.

You can call it a curse or bad luck or a spell which has not been broken till now. However, if Team India becomes champion then this magic will also be broken. If this happens, then for the first time in the 19-year history of the T20 World Cup, a host country will become champion. Let us know about the records so far-

2007: South Africa was the host in the first edition of the T20 World Cup i.e. 2007, but the team was eliminated in the Super-8 round itself. India won the final and title by defeating Pakistan.
2009: England was the host of the T20 World Cup in 2009. However, the team was eliminated after poor performance in the Super-8 round. Pakistan won the title by defeating Sri Lanka.

2026: This time India and Sri Lanka are the hosts. However, the Sri Lankan team was eliminated in the Super-8 round. At the same time, India has become the second team after Sri Lanka to reach the final as host. India has a chance to break this spell. If the team becomes champion then it will create history.
