The prices of petrol and diesel in India are decided on the basis of the policies of the central government and the international market. Many factors like crude oil price, rupee-dollar exchange rate and taxes affect the rate. Therefore, sometimes a slight increase and sometimes a decline is seen in prices.
If we look at today’s rates, petrol in Mumbai is ₹ 103.54 and diesel ₹ 90.03 per liter. Petrol in Kolkata is ₹105.45 and diesel is ₹92.02. Whereas in Chennai petrol has been recorded at ₹ 100.85 and diesel at ₹ 92.40.
Slight changes have also been seen in some cities. Petrol prices have increased in Noida and Patna, while there has been a slight decline in Chennai and Lucknow.
