
Dense fog prevails in UP on Wednesday, air pollution in Delhi is in very bad condition
New Delhi. The states of North and Central India are experiencing severe cold. Cold wave like conditions persist in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius were recorded in 19 cities each in both the states on Tuesday. Fog remained prevalent in many districts of Rajasthan including Ganganagar and Hanumangarh since Tuesday morning. The minimum temperature was recorded at 4 degrees in Fatehpur in Sikar, while the mercury in Nagaur was 5.6 degrees Celsius.
There was dense fog along with cold wave in 19 districts of UP on Wednesday. The dew drops kept falling like drizzling rain. Zero visibility was recorded in Lucknow, Gonda, Sambhal, Chandausi. Nothing was visible even 10 meters away on the roads. The temperature reached minus 1.8 degrees Celsius with dense fog in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night. Due to smog in Delhi, 10 flights were canceled at Indira Gandhi Airport. Delhi was the third most polluted city in the world on Tuesday. AQI 378 was recorded here. Lahore stood first with 425 AQI, Sarajeo stood second.
Dense fog covered low lying areas of Uttarakhand on Wednesday morning. The maximum impact was in Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. Frost and light fog were also seen in the mountains. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain dry across the state today. There is no sign of rain or snowfall from the mountains to the plains. There was fog in most areas of Haryana on Wednesday morning. Yellow alert issued regarding fog in 7 districts. These include Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Charkhidadri, Jind and Rohtak. The Meteorological Department says that due to the cold winds coming from the mountains, the temperature of the state may fall once again. The effect of haze may increase in areas adjacent to Rajasthan.
Talking about Madhya Pradesh, the period of cold wave has started here once again. There is a cold wave alert in Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Shajapur-Sehore on Wednesday. At the same time, there will be dense fog in 22 districts including Bhopal and Gwalior. Trains and flights are also getting delayed due to fog. Due to dense fog in Naugaon of Chhatarpur on Tuesday, visibility remained between 500 to 1 thousand meters.
