Amritsar. Heroin worth Rs 180 crore has been seized in 2 districts of Punjab (Amritsar and Gurdaspur). Along with this, drug money worth Rs 5.75 lakh and 2 pistols, 4 magazines and 60 cartridges were also recovered. Police suspect that this heroin has been sent from Pakistan.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the police have also arrested two accused in Gurdaspur. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested accused were in touch with their handlers based in Pakistan through their handlers in India. Police have registered the case and started investigation and efforts are being made to find out who is the owner of this house and who else are connected to this smuggling network. Police officials say that in the initial investigation the involvement of an international drug smuggling gang cannot be ruled out.

25 kg heroin found in the house
In a joint operation, Amritsar Dehat Police and Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 25 kg of heroin coming from Pakistan from a house in village Ghoga, located near the India-Pakistan International Border in Amritsar. Whose price in the international market was estimated to be around Rs 125 crore. Not only this, during this operation the police also found 2 pistols, 4 magazines and 60 live cartridges. It is feared that this entire stock was sent from Pakistan across the border through drones or other means, which was to be further supplied to Punjab and other parts of the country.
