‘It is wrong to say anything without facts’, Mangal Prabhat Lodha’s counterattack on Rohit Pawar

Politics has heated up after the death of NCP leader Ajit Pawar in the Baramati plane crash. Maharashtra government minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha has given a strong reply after his nephew Rohit Pawar termed the accident as a conspiracy. Lodha clearly said that it is not appropriate to make any kind of allegations without solid facts.

Questions raised on investigation, minister gave clarification

Responding to the questions being raised regarding Ajit Pawar’s death, Mangal Prabhat Lodha said that Rohit Pawar is a public representative. He had not expressed any doubts in the beginning. Immediately after that the Chief Minister wrote a letter to the Director of Safety for investigation. This is a common practice all over the world. He said that investigation into the accident has started and the black box of the plane has also been recovered. Necessary information related to transmission has also been received. In such a situation, one should wait for the investigation report before reaching any conclusion. Lodha bluntly said that it is wrong to say anything without facts.

What allegations did Rohit Pawar make?

In a press conference held in Mumbai on Wednesday, Rohit Pawar claimed that the visibility in Baramati was below the required standards on the day of the accident. Despite this, the pilot Captain Sumit Kapoor did not turn the plane back. He also alleged that the plane landed deliberately and exploded upon impact. According to Rohit Pawar, around 3000 to 3500 liters of fuel was filled, much more than what was required for the flight from Mumbai to Baramati. Not only this, he also claimed that extra fuel cans were kept inside the plane so that after the collision the plane would explode like a bomb.

Lodha also spoke on education and personality development

Speaking on the issue of education during the same program, Mangal Prabhat Lodha said that no child can become a good citizen just by education. He said personality development is very important. Children should have a sense of social work, only then they will be able to become responsible citizens. On the MoU signed between Aniruddhabapu Disaster Management Academy and Maharashtra Skill Development, Lodha said that this is the need of the hour. He said that on one hand the country is talking about Artificial Intelligence (AI), but when a major accident or natural disaster occurs, it takes 2 to 6 hours for the government to reach the spot. During this period the golden hours are wasted. According to Lodha, this MoU will help in further strengthening the disaster management system.
