The names of the four candidates announced by TMC include Babul Supriyo, former DGP Rajeev Kumar, senior lawyer Maneka Guruswamy and popular Bengali actress Koyal Mallik. TMC has made actress Koel Mallik its candidate. TMC announced his name through social media. Koel Mallik is a well-known name in the Bengali film industry. Koyal was born in Kolkata. Apart from being an actress, Koel is also a social worker. They work for widows and children. She will be the first member of her family to enter politics.
