Pakistan reached Super-8, defeated Namibia by 102 runs; Usman Tariq gets four wickets

In a do or die match, Pakistan defeated Namibia by 102 runs and qualified for Super-8 in T20 World Cup. In the 35th group match played in Colombo on Wednesday, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first and with the help of Sahibzada Farhan’s century, scored 199 runs for three wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Namibia’s team could score only 97 runs in 17.3 overs and were all out.

Now Namibia has got the target of 200 runs to win. In this match, Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub gave a good start to Pakistan. There was a partnership of 40 runs between the two for the first wicket. Brussels sent Ayub to the pavilion. He was out after scoring 14 runs. After this Farhan got the support of Captain Salman Aga. He made a partnership of 67 runs with Agha for the second wicket. Agha also became a victim of Brussels. He could score 38 runs. Erasmus gave the third blow to the team. He dismissed Khawaja Nafe. He could score only five runs. There was an unbeaten partnership of 81 runs between Farhan and Shadab Khan for the fourth wicket. During this, Farhan completed his century in 57 balls. Whereas, Shadab remained unbeaten after scoring 36 runs. For Namibia, Jack Brussel took two wickets while Gerhard Erasmus took one wicket.
