
Haridwar. The government and administration seem to be fully prepared for the proposed Haridwar tour program of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on March 7. To finalize the preparations for the event, on Saturday, senior officials of the state including Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Director General of Police Deepam Seth and Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli inspected the venue located at Bairagi Island. The officials conducted a thorough review of the program from security to basic facilities and gave strict instructions to the concerned departments to complete the work in a time bound manner.
During the inspection, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan took a detailed look at the huge pandal, stage, seating arrangements for guests, drinking water supply and electricity arrangements made at the venue. He laid special emphasis on cleanliness and security arrangements at the venue. Along with this, preparations for the proposed exhibition related to the state’s development journey and new laws at the venue were also reviewed. The Chief Secretary clarified that this visit of the Union Home Minister is very important, hence all the arrangements should be error free and well organized. He directed the officials to re-examine all the arrangements before the program to ensure that there is no deficiency in any arrangement. Regarding security and traffic management, the Director General of Police instructed the officers to implement concrete plans. The Chief Secretary said that a large number of people are likely to participate in the program, hence the convenience of common citizens should be given top priority. For this, an effective traffic plan has been prepared so that local residents and devotees do not face any difficulty in movement. He has warned all the departments to work with mutual coordination and not to be negligent at any level. During the inspection, Commissioner Garhwal Vinay Shankar Pandey, ADG Ajay Prakash Anshuman and District Magistrate Mayur Dixit and other senior officials of the administration shared detailed information about the preparations so far. Disaster Management Secretary, Director General of Information and Senior Superintendent of Police along with Managing Director of SIDCUL were also present in the meeting. Strict security arrangements are being made in Bairagi Island and deployment of police force has been ensured at every nook and corner.
