Prof. Dr. Mamidanna Sreedhar, a distinguished scientist, academician, and interdisciplinary research leader from Andhra Pradesh, was recently honoured by Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to artificial intelligence, medical technology, and higher education.
With an academic journey that spans India, the United States, and Canada, Prof. Dr. Sreedhar has built a remarkable career bridging technology and healthcare. After completing his early education in Andhra Pradesh, he pursued advanced studies in the United States, where he engaged in interdisciplinary research across computer science, engineering, biomedical sciences, and emerging technologies.
During his tenure in North America, he worked as a Consultant and Scientist with IBM Research & Development Labs in the USA and Canada. His work involved cloud computing systems, advanced computing architectures, and early applications of artificial intelligence, positioning him at the forefront of global technological innovation.
In 2010, he returned permanently to India with a vision to strengthen the nation’s research and higher education ecosystem. He served in senior academic leadership roles at institutions including Karnataka Open University and Babu Banarasi Das University, where he played a pivotal role in shaping research policy, building interdisciplinary centers, and securing competitive grants from national and international agencies.
Prof. Dr. Sreedhar’s scholarly contributions span cloud computing, artificial intelligence, medical sciences, biology, psychology, engineering, and human rights. He has authored multiple research papers, secured patents, and published influential academic books. His recent publication, “Role of AI in Medical Technology,” explores AI-driven diagnostics, intelligent monitoring systems, precision medicine, and smart hospital management frameworks. The book has been widely appreciated for bridging advanced computational intelligence with real-world healthcare applications.
He is also the author of “Clinical Anatomy and Functional Physiology,” a comprehensive textbook designed for medical and allied health science students, integrating structural anatomy with functional and clinical insights.
