New DelhiThere has been an uproar in the Lok Sabha over the statement of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. On Monday, while claiming in the name of former Army Chief Manoj Naravane, he said that the tanks of the Chinese Army in Doklam are near the Indian border. For this he talked about citing a book, but Defense Minister Rajnath Singh challenged him. The Defense Minister challenged Rahul Gandhi and asked him to tell whether this book has been published or not. He said that we cannot talk here on the basis of any book which has not been published. I challenge Rahul Gandhi whether this book was published or not. Amit Shah also objected to Rahul Gandhi’s statement. Rahul Gandhi had claimed that he was saying this on the basis of Manoj Naravane’s book. On this the Defense Minister said that I challenge him to present the book. If a book has not been published then how can such claims be made on its basis. Whereas Rahul Gandhi said that I have cited the memoirs of former Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane, which have not been published. On this, Congress MP KC Venugopal referred to the speech of BJP MP Tejasvi Surya and said that he had also talked about references outside this House. On this, Home Minister Amit Shah clarified that Tejasvi Surya had not mentioned any media report or any book off topic. The Home Minister said that in his speech he had talked about the addresses of the President from 2004 to 2014. There was nothing in it which was objectionable. Despite the objections of Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah, Rahul Gandhi maintained his aggressive stance. He said that these people claim to be fighting terrorism, but are afraid to mention even one quote. Rahul Gandhi said that what is written in it that this government does not want to even mention it. When the uproar over Rahul Gandhi’s speech increased, Akhilesh Yadav also stood up. He said that the issue of China is sensitive and there is a need to be careful about it. Dr. Lohia also used to say this and Mulayam Singh Yadav was also worried about it. In such a situation, if the opposition leader wants to say something about China, then he should not be stopped. Rajnath Singh said that if there is a ban on the publication of any book then it should not be mentioned in the House. It is wrong to do so and against the dignity of the House. Rahul Gandhi wanted to speak on this issue again and again, but there was continuous uproar in the House and Rajnath Singh stood up several times and objected to the mention of a book which was not even published.
