According to Lakshya, the award was given to an elderly woman before her. He claims that when the woman extended her hand to shake hands, Rakul did not shake hands. Seeing this, he felt that perhaps there was no tradition of shaking hands on stage at that time. Lakshya said in his video, ‘I did not intend to insult anyone. I took the award and moved on because I thought it was not customary there to shake hands. How would I know that the other person might feel bad? He clarified that his intention was not to ignore anyone and the entire incident was misrepresented.
