Imphal. Tension has once again increased in the state after firing on the outskirts of Bishnupur district of Manipur on Tuesday night. The officers provided this information. He said that firing was done several times near Torbang and Fougakchao Ikhai areas bordering Churachandpur District.
Giving information about the case, an officer said, “We are trying to find out the reason and motive behind the firing.” The latest firing near the hilly areas spread panic among the local people. The official said that as a precautionary measure, additional security forces have been sent to the spot.
Meanwhile, efforts to form government are underway in Manipur, which is struggling with caste violence. In this direction, the BJP leadership has held several rounds of talks with the BJP MLAs of the state. Earlier, for the first time since the violence broke out on May 3, 2023, BJP MLAs from the Kuki community and the Meitei community sat together in discussion with the party leadership. A total of 34 BJP MLAs participated in the meeting, including Manipur Assembly Speaker Satyabrata and former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh was also included.
