
Rajkot. In a heart-wrenching incident on Monday evening in Rajkot district of Gujarat, three laborers lost their lives after being hit by a Vande Bharat train. The accident occurred at around 4:45 pm near a railway crossing between Bhaktinagar and Ribda railway stations.
According to the police report, when the Vande Bharat train going from Veraval to Ahmedabad was passing through this place, three youths were standing near the railway track and trying to take a group selfie. Due to not being able to estimate his distance correctly, he got hit by the train.
Giving information about the incident, Sub-Inspector A.R. Rathore said that in this accident one youth died on the spot, while two others were seriously injured. The injured youth were immediately sent to the hospital, but another youth died during treatment. The deceased have been identified as Sandeep Patel and Sandeep Koli, while the seriously injured youth has been identified as Kapil Patel. All three youths were residents of Uttar Pradesh and worked in a factory located in Rajkot.
According to preliminary investigation, it also emerged that the three youths were going to the railway station to drop their companion Sandeep Patel, who was about to return home. At the same time, he decided to take a group selfie on the railway track, which proved fatal for him. Vande Bharat train was stopped for some time after the incident. Police are investigating the incident thoroughly and have appealed to people to avoid taking selfies or making videos near the railway tracks. At present, the treatment of the injured youth is going on in the hospital and the police is busy in further action.
