WhiteCoat Celebrity Cricket League Pune Builds a Legacy Beyond Cricket

The WhiteCoat Celebrity Cricket League (WCCL) is laying the foundation for a long-term sports and healthcare legacy, beginning in Pune. With plans for future expansion, women’s leagues, and international franchises, WCCL is designed for sustainable growth.

Pune’s role as the league’s launch city reflects its importance in India’s medical and sporting ecosystem. By celebrating doctors, engaging celebrities, and promoting health awareness, WCCL Pune stands apart from conventional leagues. This is not just a tournament—it is a movement that will redefine how India views sports, healthcare, and social impact.

Where Healthcare Meets Cricket & Glamour

WhiteCoat Celebrity Cricket League Pune Builds a Legacy Beyond Cricket

India’s sports and entertainment landscape is witnessing a powerful new revolution with the launch of the WhiteCoat Celebrity Cricket League (WCCL) — the country’s first-of-its-kind T20 leather-ball cricket league that brings together doctors and celebrities on one competitive platform. More than just a sporting event, WCCL is a movement that honors healthcare heroes while delivering world-class cricket entertainment.

WCCL has been conceptualized to celebrate doctors who dedicate their lives to saving others, now stepping into the spotlight to showcase their passion for cricket. From the cricket grounds of Pune to the international stadiums of the UAE, the league represents a bold new chapter in Indian sports — one where purpose meets performance and healthcare meets entertainment.

A Vision Beyond Boundaries

The mission of WCCL goes far beyond the boundary ropes. The league is creating a unique ecosystem where professional excellence meets athletic prowess, community impact meets commercial viability, and sport becomes a platform for recognition and social change. By blending competitive cricket with celebrity presence and healthcare leadership, WCCL offers a fresh and emotionally powerful sports property.

Visionary Leadership Powering WCCL

At the heart of WCCL is a dynamic leadership team united by a shared vision to create India’s most unique sports league:

Mr. Sachin Waghmare – Founder & Managing Director
A true visionary, Sachin leads WCCL’s strategic direction, national expansion, and league execution. He seamlessly integrates influencer engagement and entertainment elements while maintaining the league’s core purpose.

Mr. Dipesh Shere – Founder & Director (Marketing & Technical)
Dipesh plays a crucial role in building strong brand partnerships, optimizing operations, and driving innovative marketing strategies that fuel WCCL’s rapid growth.

Mr. Akhil Kumar – Founder & Director (Finance & Legal)
Akhil ensures financial integrity and legal compliance, providing robust oversight and strategic fiscal guidance.

Dr. Priyanka Warwatte – Founder & Director (Medical Welfare & PR)
A highly respected name in women’s healthcare and IVF, Dr. Warwatte strengthens WCCL’s medical credibility, doctor engagement, and healthcare outreach.

Ms. Varsha S. – Founder & Director (Sales & HR)
Varsha leads human resource strategy and revenue growth, building a high-performing organizational structure.

Strong Organizing & Advisory Board

WCCL is backed by an experienced organizing committee and advisory board comprising medical professionals, sports mentors, and entertainment leaders. The league has already onboarded popular celebrities including Siddharth Jadhav, Sanjay Jadhav, Pravin Tarde, Subodh Bhave, and more, adding star power while keeping doctors at the center of the narrative.

Historic Nationwide Trials

The WCCL Trials 2025–26 marked a watershed moment in Indian sports history:

5,000+ doctor registrations

3,000+ physical trial participants

1,500+ digital trial participants

15+ distinguished guests

Extensive regional and national media coverage

Trials were successfully conducted across Pune, Mumbai, Goa (NDCL collaboration), Jaipur (DPL collaboration), and Aurangabad, with more cities lined up. The overwhelming response validated India’s readiness for a doctor-led professional cricket league.

League Structure & Global Ambition

WCCL will feature 10 doctor-led franchises, each supported by corporate partners and 1–2 celebrity players. The league follows a transparent structure including nationwide trials, a high-profile Grand Auction, league matches in Pune, and semi-finals and finals in the UAE, offering international exposure to India’s medical athletes.

Celebrity Integration with Purpose

Unlike traditional celebrity leagues, WCCL positions celebrities as supporters, not the spotlight. Doctors remain the heroes, with celebrities enhancing entertainment value while respecting the league’s healthcare-first philosophy.

CSR at the Core

WCCL is deeply rooted in social impact. The league actively promotes:

Health awareness campaigns

Blood donation drives

Free medical camps and mobile clinics

Doctor-players serve as healthcare ambassadors, leveraging visibility for meaningful community benefit, making WCCL a powerful CSR platform for brands.

Unprecedented Reach & Brand Opportunity

With an estimated 100M+ projected reach, WCCL offers unparalleled access to India’s most respected and influential demographic — doctors and their professional networks. The league presents premium partnership opportunities across jersey branding, stadium integration, broadcast presence, digital media, and CSR initiatives.

Building a Lasting Legacy

The inaugural season (2025–26) marks the beginning of a long-term vision that includes league expansion, women’s doctor-celebrity leagues, international franchises, and the establishment of the WCCL Foundation to support healthcare-sports initiatives.

The WhiteCoat Celebrity Cricket League (WCCL) was conceived as a unique platform where doctors from across India compete in professional T20 leather-ball cricket alongside celebrities, while doctors remain the central heroes. To formalize this vision, WCCL Pvt Ltd formation began in September 2025, establishing a professionally governed sports organization.

In October 2025, WCCL collaborated with leading celebrities Mr. Pravin Tarde, Mr. Subodh Bhave, Mr. Siddharth Jadhav, and Mr. Sanjay Jadhav, strengthening the league’s entertainment reach. The same month, Pune Doctors Trials were conducted in the presence of Mr. Pravin Tarde, Dr. Pratap Somwanshi (Head, NIMA), Mr. Parag More (Ex Rajasthan Royals player & current RR scout), and Dr. Prasad Biware (Manipal Hospital).

The movement expanded with Mumbai Doctors Trials in November 2025, attended by Mr. Rahul Ramugade (India Wheelchair Cricket Team player, Captain Mumbai Wheelchair Cricket Team, National Para-Swimmer). In December 2025, WCCL collaborated with NDCL (National Doctors Cricket League) and participated in the Goa NDCL Tournament, where top-performing doctors received Green Cards—direct entry to the WCCL Grand Auction.

Further expansion included Gujarat Trials in January 2026 and the launch of nationwide Digital Trials, enabling doctors across India to register and submit videos for expert digital selection. Ground bookings were finalized for Pune, India, and the UAE. Franchise slots opened for 10 teams—Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Nagpur, Bangalore, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Gujarat. OTT collaboration talks and sponsor onboarding also commenced in January 2026.
