Ai+ Nova 2 5G: Leaked Images Reveal Sleek Sub-10k Design and “Nothing-Inspired” Lighting

NEW DELHI – Just days ahead of its anticipated April 9th debut, the Ai+ Nova 2 5G has become the subject of major leaks, revealing a device that aims to bring premium “lifestyle” design to the ultra-budget segment. Leaked dummy units and marketing renders suggest that the Madhav Sheth-backed brand is positioning the Nova 2 as a direct challenger to established budget kings from Xiaomi and Realme, with a price point expected to start as low as ₹8,999.

Minimalist Design with a “Nothing” Twist

The leaked images showcase two distinct models: the standard Nova 2 5G and a more expressive Nova 2 Ultra 5G. While the standard model opts for a clean, “squircle” camera module and a matte finish, the Ultra model is turning heads with a circular RGB LED light ring on the rear panel.

Reminiscent of the “Glyph Interface” popularized by Nothing, this light ring is reportedly interactive—glowing in different colors (Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow) to signal incoming calls, app notifications, or pulse in sync with music. Both models feature a signature red-accented power button, adding a pop of contrast to the five available colorways: Black, Blue, Green, Pink, and Purple.

Powering the “Sovereign AI” Experience

On the technical side, the Nova 2 5G is rumored to be powered by the Unisoc T7250 or T8200 chipset, a choice that allows Ai+ to keep costs low while providing 5G connectivity. The device is expected to ship with Android 16 (or the brand’s proprietary NxtQuantum OS), which emphasizes “Sovereign AI”—locally processed AI features that don’t require a constant cloud connection, enhancing user privacy.

Leaked specs also point to a 6.75-inch 120Hz IPS display and a massive 6,000mAh battery. While the charging speed is expected to be a modest 18W, the sheer capacity combined with the efficient Unisoc processor could result in multi-day battery life for casual users.

Disrupting the Budget Segment

By targeting the sub-₹10,000 to ₹15,000 bracket, Ai+ is making a strategic play for India’s massive Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. If the leaks hold true, the Nova 2 5G will be one of the most affordable 5G devices to offer a high-refresh-rate screen and a unique physical notification system.

The official launch is set for April 9, 2026, where the “Nova 2” and “Nova 2 Ultra” will be unveiled on Flipkart, likely accompanied by a new ecosystem of wearables including the NovaPods and NovaWatch.
