NEW DELHI – The long wait for nearly 500,000 students is drawing to a close as the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) prepares to release the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) results for 2026. While the Council has yet to issue an official notification for the exact hour, senior board officials and historical data point toward a release in the last week of April 2026.
Anticipated Timeline and Trends
Following the conclusion of the board exams on March 30, the evaluation process has been moving at a brisk pace. In 2025, the Council declared results on April 30, maintaining a tradition of releasing scores approximately one month after the final paper. Sources suggest that the results could be announced between April 28 and May 3, 2026.
A senior CISCE official recently hinted that the board aims to provide scorecards early to facilitate timely admissions for Class 11 and undergraduate courses. “The evaluation of answer scripts is in its final stages. We are working toward an April-end release,” the official stated.
Where and How to Check Results
Once the results are officially live, students can access their digital marksheets through the following official platforms:
-
Official Websites:
cisce.organdresults.cisce.org -
Mobile App: DigiLocker and UMANG
-
SMS Service: By sending ‘ICSE <Unique ID>’ or ‘ISC <Unique ID>’ to the designated board number.
To download the scorecard from the website, students will need their Unique ID, Index Number, and the CAPTCHA code provided on the login page.
Key Statistics to Watch
Last year, the board recorded a stellar pass percentage of 99.09% for ICSE and 98.19% for ISC, with girls marginally outperforming boys. Educators expect a similar trend this year, given the consistent difficulty level of the 2026 question papers.
Post-Result Procedures
Immediately following the declaration, the CISCE will open the window for rechecking and re-evaluation. Students who are dissatisfied with their marks can apply through the official portal for a fee (typically ₹1,000 per subject). Furthermore, for those who do not clear one or two subjects, the Compartment Exams are expected to be conducted in July 2026.
Students and parents are advised to keep their admit cards handy and monitor the official CISCE portal for the final “Result Date and Time” notification, which is expected within the next 48 hours.
